 Verified Be warned that you cannot spend Moroccan Dirhams at Morrocco airport! And you cannot change your Dirhams back to pounds
I was really disappointed that there was nowhere at Marrakesh airport to change back your Moroccan Dirhams. I had £100 worth left - so about 1200 Dirham but could not exchange back for English money NOR could I even spend them to buy duty free alcohol nor aftershave/ perfume - nothing! All I could use them for is to buy coffee n snacks. Whilst I appreciate it’s a ‘ closed currency ‘ country people need to be aware and not change so much - detrimental to the tourist industry I think!

Before travelling, I was trying to secure transfers to and from our hotel in Marrakech from the airport and found Morocco Airport Transfers. They were easy to contact through WhatsApp and responded very quickly to confirm arrangements and price. The large minibus taxi was comfortable and spacious for the 12 people in our party, the cost was reasonable and they were on time and at the agreed location. Friendly driver, clean and new luxury car. I was recommended by a friend to use this company's car service. This is my 5th time using the service and all 5 times have been great. I was very supportive of them. My friend booked a ride for her mother and signed up for the special service by having the driver send a greeting card to her mother. They were very supportive and her mother was happy. I will try this particular service on my next trip. Don't know if this service has a membership card? I really enjoyed it. Day 1 :

Starting the tour from fez to Marrakech

Our tour starts in the morning from Fes, we will head the road to Ifrane surnamed (the Switzerland of Morocco) and ski resort in the Middle atlas region as we as Animals to be found in the vicinity include the threatened Barbary Macaque. Among the local tree species are the native Atlas cedar, Scrub oak and the introduced London plane. We will cross the Ziz valley and its throats and cross some cities like Midelt the city known by its good Apples and we cross Erfoud the city of Fossils before arriving to Merzouga where we will stay in a hotel near the dunes.

Dinner and overnight in a hotel in the desert

Day 2 :

Merzouga- Oasis Tiserdmine - Nomadic tents – Khamlia - Camp

fter breakfast we will make the tour around the dunes and to explore the area. First, we will visit the village of Tiserdmine and we will see some Fossils in rocks, after that we will continue to visit a nomadic family and drink tea with them, after that we will cross Khamlia a village of people originally from Mali making a living through local artisanal crafts; their better gift is the concert of gnawa music they perform. After 10 min driving we will set up at the hotel in Merzouga, we will ride a caravan of dromedaries to the foot of the great dunes where you can witness the beautiful desert sunset abd spend the night in a desert camp.

Day 3 :

Merzouga - Rissani – Erfoud - Todra Gorges - Dades Gorges

Wake up early in the morning to witness the spectacular sunrise over the sand dunes,and after breakfast we continue our tour, we will cross Rissani which used to be the first imperial city in Morocco and the origin of the dynasty Alaoui, where one of king’s family is bared there his name is Moulay Ali Cherif. The city of Rissani has inhabitants who speak Arabic and who have a popular souk where all the villages around the city come to buy their needs there such as vegetables, clothes… and spices that specialize this city too. Heading to the other city called Erfoud the place of Fossils that are processed into beautiful furniture, home décor, and personal items such as bracelets, key chains and necklaces. Continue driving till we arrive to Tinghir, the place where Todra Gorges are we will visit the mountains there which are the main place for climbers and trekking lovers. We will continue till we arrive to Boumalne Dades after one hour we will set on the hotel.

Day 4 :

Boumalne Dades – Boutghrar - K’laat M’Gouna – Ouarzazate

After visiting the Dades gorges we will cross an unpaved road near the atlas to head to Boutghrar where we will see nomadic people in caves, like this we will combine between the nomads of the desert and the nomads of the Atlas. We will have lunch in traditional restaurant in the village of Boutghrar before heading to see the valley of roses in K’laat M’Gouna where we will have a chance to explore the home of the roses whose petals are used for perfumes, lotions, and oils. By then we will head to Ouarzazate where the solar energy project will provide up to 1.1 million Moroccans with a source of clean renewable energy by 2018

Day 5 :

Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech

After breakfast in the hotel or the riad in Ouarzazate, we will head back to Marrakech crossing the high Atlas Mountains again, in this day we will stop at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou where inhabitants still live within these walls and well as in surrounding berbere villages. In this Ksar. They filmed a lot of Movies like Gladiator, Game of Throne, and Prince of Arabia…. After this we will head our road to Marrakech giving you free time to enjoy the city and its beauty.
