Itinerary

Through the Tizi NTichka at an altitude of 2,260 meters, we will enjoy breathtaking panorama views and explore the mountains of the high atlas. With a minor detour, we will pass through a fantastic Kasbah showing the true and untouched nature of Morocco. Kasbah Telouet was once the Kasbah of the Glaoui Pasha and is an incredible view. Continuing visiting Kasbahs, we will stop at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou where inhabitants still live within these walls and well as in surrounding berbere villages. Our next stop for the day will be at the ‘Hollywood’ of Morocco: Ouarzazate.

Departing to the Sahara Desert through the road of a thousand Kasbahs, we will do several breathtaking pit stops along the way. Our first is in Skoura, the 1000 Palm Oasis, where we will visit the Kasbah of Amredile. We will then continue to the capital of roses: K’laat M’Gouna. Here we will have a chance to explore the makings of perfumes, oils and lotions from rose petals before we continue our journey to the Todra Gorge.

After enjoying the Todra Goges which is one of the most spectacular rock enclaves in the south, situated on the east side of the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco, this canyon is more than 500 feet tall providing rock climbing enthusiasts to experience the natural forces that once carved this region. About 50 kilometers before we reach Merzouga, we will arrive to the fossil capital of Morocco: Erfoud. Here we will have the opportunity to view the marble fossilization process and will be able to buy some beautiful souvenirs for your family back home. Once we reach Merzouga, we will take a camel ride to our berber camp while we watch the sunset and admire the silence of the desert.

Dinner and overnight in a berber camp

Wake up early morning to enjoy the sunrise in the dunes, then start a very cultural day as we take a grand tour of the dunes going to two different oasis traveling through the routes of the nomadic villages such as Khamlia (Village of Gnaoua) and the Oasis Tissardmine where we will have a chance to meet some local Saharan Desert inhabitants while learning their culture and wisdom through a hot cup of Moroccan tea and sweets. Lunch in a traditional restaurant in the desert where you can taste a berber pizza.

Free time to relax at the hotel or walk in the dunes.
Dinner and over night in a hotel in the desert

After having two nights in the gorgeous desert we will head Fes crossing several city such such Erfoud the city of Fossils before arriving to the Ziz valley and its throats and cities like Midelt the city known by its good Apples where we will have lunch. After lunch break we will continue our road to Ifrane surnamed (the Switzerland of Morocco) and ski resort in the Middle atlas region as we as Animals to be found in the vicinity include the threatened Barbary Macaque. Among the local tree species are the native Atlas cedar, Scrub oak and the introduced London plane. We will enjoy a coffee break in Ifrane and drive afterwards to Fes.
